Listen first
Before suggesting anything, I want to understand the business, the people behind it and what you're actually trying to achieve.
About
I've always loved working with people. I love listening, asking questions, sharing ideas and helping someone work through a problem — and that's a big part of why I started SBT Marketing.
I've been lucky enough to spend more than 20 years working in marketing, across all sorts of businesses and some pretty incredible brands. And over that time, I've learned a lot. I've also learned that there is always more to learn — which is probably one of the things I love most about marketing.
What I like about marketing
We all have a product, service or idea that we believe can make someone's life a little easier, better or more enjoyable. Marketing helps us find those people, understand what matters to them and show them why what we have to offer might be right for them.
And there isn't one formula for doing that.
Every business is different. Every customer is different. Sometimes experience gives you a pretty good idea of what to do. Sometimes you need to investigate, test something and see what you learn.
That's part of what keeps marketing interesting.
Why SBT Marketing?
After many years working with larger businesses, I wanted to take what I'd learned and use it somewhere I could make a more personal difference.
I want to work alongside small business owners, understand what they're trying to achieve and help them work out how marketing can support that.
I don't want marketing to feel like something mysterious that you have to hand over to an “expert”. If I can help you understand it better and feel more confident making decisions, then I'm doing what I set out to do.
And hopefully we'll enjoy working together along the way.
A little bit about my background
I've worked across marketing strategy, digital marketing, CRM and loyalty, customer journeys, Google Ads, SEO, social media and campaigns.
Along the way, I've had the opportunity to work with some brilliant businesses and brands, including Apple, Disney, Sony and Vodafone.
That experience has taught me a lot — and these days, I'm excited to take what I've learned and make it useful for smaller businesses.
What matters to me
Before suggesting anything, I want to understand the business, the people behind it and what you're actually trying to achieve.
I'll share my experience, ideas and recommendations — and the thinking behind them.
I like clear thinking, useful plans and ideas that can actually be put into practice.
I know what I know. I'm comfortable with what I don't know. And I'm interested enough to find out.
If I think something is worth doing, I'll tell you. If I don't, I'll tell you that too.
When I'm not talking about marketing…
I'm a mum, so efficiency is pretty important to me (IYKYK!). Outside work, I love cooking, music and the Swannies. I'm also happiest spending time outdoors, and I love getting out in the garden when I have the chance.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation where we can talk about your business, what you're trying to achieve and the marketing challenges you're working through.
My hope is that you'll come away with a little more clarity and a few useful ideas.
